The project foresees the upgrading of the area on which the abandoned Eridania sugar refinery in Castiglion Fiorentino lies. The surface of this site is 120 hectares and precisely 1,185,941 sqm to which we add 36,835 sqm in the area of Cava Ceriolo for a total of 1,222,776 sqm, distributed as follows:
• Factory area 144,700 sqm;
• Sludge tanks behind the buildings 84,528 sqm;
• Areas occupied by the basins 627,185 sqm;
• Other areas 366,363 sqm.
According to general town-planning, the area now occupied by the factory lies in the D1 completion area (handicraft, industrial and technical-distribution areas).
